This space has been cleverly used at the boot

With prices starting at Rs 5.24 lakh it not only undercuts some of its rivals but also its hatchback sibling Polo. Volkswagen has finally entered the compact sedan space with the launch of the Ameo. With prices starting at Rs 5.24 lakh it not only undercuts some of its rivals but also its hatchback sibling Polo. The Ameo is based on the same platform as the Polo and it will also be offered with the same engine options. While underneath the skin the Ameo and the Polo are essentially the same cars, does the latest offering have more to offer than just a boot We bring you an analysis to clear your confusion. Spot The DifferenceThe Ameo is a doppelganger of the Polo. But there are very clever yet subtle differences between the two.

For instance, the Ameo’s front bumper has muscular ceases on the side and is shorter in length. Other than that, it's a Polo. Coming to the side, the car has a more angular C-pillar which allows it to blend with the boot. The roof height has been lowered a bit to arrange the proportions, but up to the C-pillar, it’s a Polo. Surprisingly, the rear is entirely new. The two share similar taillamps, but the Ameo has received new units. The boot has some nice angular design cues near the license plate which marginally helps the car with its aesthetics. Also, the integrated boot spoiler adds a bit of sportiness to the otherwise sober sedan. The two cars look almost alike from the front, but differ a bit from the the side and the rear. The overall personality of the car though, stays the same. If you like the design of the Polo, you might end up falling for the Ameo as well. The CabinLike the front look, the Ameo adopts the dashboard from the Polo as well. The steering and instrument cluster are all familiar too. The center console features the touchscreen infotainment system with Mirrorlink capabilities. The doors and door panes are the same as in the Polo. Additionally, the Ameo gets a front center armrest with storage for knick-knacks.

As the wheelbase is the same, the legroom for the rear passenger is also on similar lines with the Polo.Sitting inside the Ameo is reminiscent of being inside the Polo. The cabin feels same, the fit and finish of all the pieces are identical. Even the drive is almost the same, but we will get to that a bit later.FeaturesBoth of these cars come well loaded for their respective segment. The only major difference in terms of features is the presence of rear AC vents and standard Antilock Braking System (ABS) in the Ameo. Other than that, both the cars come with features such as cruise control, rain sensing wipers, touchscreen infotainment system with Mirrorlink, remote operated power windows, reverse parking sensors and camera.DimensionsThe Ameo is 3,995mm long, 1,682mm wide and 1,483mm tall. The Polo, on the other hand, is 24mm shorter, 14mm less tall and is the same in width as the Ameo . The front bumper of the Ameo is 35 mm shorter in length.

This space has been cleverly used at the boot to make the car look more proportionate. The Ameo comes with a 300 litres boot which is ample for carrying a couple of suitcases on a family trip. If you are not keen on buying a hatchback, the Ameo will be almost be as easy to maneuver in traffic as the Polo, plus the added convenience of the boot. The DriveThe Ameo borrows its petrol and diesel engine from the Polo. Out of these, Volkswagen has only launched the 1.2-litre petrol engine as of now. The more popular 1.5-litre diesel will be launched in August. The power and mileage figures are also almost identical to the hatchback.

Additionally, the Polo also offers a 1.2-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TDI in the 105PS tune which makes driving charmful in the hatch. When it comes to the driving dynamics, the Polo is a lot more fun to drive. This does not mean that the Ameo is bad, but it is evident in the drive that you are carrying a boot at the back. Both cars are firm in corners and handle well.PriceVolkswagen shocked everyone when they announced the price for the Ameo. It not only undercuts most of its rivals, but also the Polo. Here are the variant wise prices of the cars.Variant (1.2-litre MPI) Ameo PoloTrendline Rs 5.3 lakh Rs 5.6 lakhComfortline Rs 6.1 lakh Rs 6.2 lakhHighline Rs 7.1 lakh Rs 7.0 lakhAll prices ex-showroom DelhiWhat's Different The غير مجاز مي باشدt of the two cars is almost identical. And, for a lesser price, you get 300 litres of boot space with the convenience of a sedan. The tradeoff is the brilliant driving dynamics of the Polo and the grunt of the 105PS petrol and diesel engines. If you are particularly China PPR BALL VALVE manufacturers looking for a hatchback, the Polo fits the bill, but if you're looking for a good car in the Rs 6 - 8 lakh price range with several features and good built quality, the Ameo is the perfect deal.Key Changes300 litres boot space New front bumper Front center armrest Standard ABS Rear AC ventsSource: CarDekho

Cruz continue to finish races or would there be another

Rating: Cars and humans have had a special chemistry ever since they were invented, it gave humanity the much-needed speed for its progress, and suddenly the world seemed a smaller place. These automobiles, parts of a machinery moving together could create such power. Gradually it became associated with symbols of masculinity, ***ism etc.Soon they also evolved in different shapes and sizes giving themselves more character and personality, so much so, that soon one could understand a man’s taste by the car he drives and the fineness of the machine by the man who drove it. Cars also became so much entwined with cinema that you couldn’t imagine a film without it, either the protagonist driving it, or the police car chasing the hooligans or a beautiful girl getting stranded because of car trouble and eventually falling in love with the man who stopped to help.Cars have also been presented in different characters in different films mostly with respect to the relationship the owner seemed to develop with the car.

In year 2006 came Cars, and it completely ruptured that relationship. Suddenly cars could speak and not communicate simply by throwing tantrums like they used to do. It was alive and did not need humans to feel validated. The third addition to the series is China PS Series quite similar to the previous one and there seems to be a generic plot structure here with a beginning, where Lightning looses the race and goes into an existential crisis, comes on the verge of breaking down and giving up, meets old pals, tries to find motivation and ends up winning the race. What started in the year 2006 is finally come to a full circle.Lightning McQueen, the prodigy who made us fall in love with the race track in a totally humane way, has found his own protégé while trying to recover his own Mojo. Lightning goes through the usual motions of denial, then acknowledgement, then trying to find solutions to his problems and while he is at it, connects with his old pals who help him regain the motivation and focus required for the race.

Disney and Pixar studios have mastered this art of very controlled maneuvering where they take the audience through the motions themselves. It does not feel like you are watching a real story or something that could be remotely real. On the contrary, it feels like a very well planned and articulated roller-coaster ride that makes you feel the emotions exactly where it is designed to make you feel.

While Disney and Pixar may pride themselves in the fact that in a mere two hours time frame they are able to bombard you with life lessons, they must realize that the audience soon becomes immune to all that. Sure it is entertaining and gives you a momentary kick but the buzz leaves you as soon as you have left the theater, especially in the case of Cars. This installment of the series focused on the new world of futuristic designs and tools taking over the old world of emotions and raw power. Lightning has had glorious racing careers, but its time now for the younger generation to take over. What makes it interesting is that he discovers his protégé in the most unexpected car, a trainer car that has no real racing experience and on top of that is a female, Cruz Ramirez. She has been bullied and pushed to the corner that she gave up on racing altogether and was content on being a trainer, when she meets Lightning, who has been her inspiration while growing up.By a twist of fate and some intelligent maneuvering, the race is won, only this time it is Cruz, motivated by Lightning who reaches the finish line. I am wondering if there would be a next installment and if so, would Cruz continue to finish races or would there be another twist to put the male back in the front.

A murder case cannot be registered as the motive

She has decided to live for a “sacred mission”-— to bring to book her son’s killer. It did not take long for Kismat Maurya (39) to figure out that a long and arduous battle lay before her when she first visited the Ayodhya Nagar police station on November 9, 2015, days after the last rites of her son Aditya Maurya (19) had been performed.Aditya, an engineering student, died on October 22 last year, after being hit by a car while he was taking a stroll on the sidewalk with one of his friends at around 11 pm.While the police dismissed it as death in a road accident, without pursuing the case for any headway, Ms Maurya took it upon herself to gather evidence against the unknown accused who had hit her son and then fled away from the scene.“I had made a few phone calls to Ayodhya Nagar police station and realised that the probe was going nowhere. I set out for Bhopal on November 9 and went straight to the accident site. I walked up and down the road at least 30 times. My instinct told me there must have been eye witnesses as there was a petrol pump and a Durga Puja pandal close to the spot. I also spotted three CCTV cameras at the nearby square,” she told this newspaper narrating how she went about collecting evidence, which, she alleged, the police never did. When she approached the police station for the CCTV footage.

Ms Maurya was told that images captured from October 22 to November 9 had been deleted. “I felt the ground beneath me was slipping. I am an MSc in computer science. I know that nothing is ever deleted beyond recovery. I ensured that it was retrieved,” Ms Maurya said.A week later, she again approached the police station to learn that the video footage she had submitted had gone missing. “I was deeply upset. How can the clippings disappear from the police control room I again got the footage retrieved and this time I made sure to keep a back-up.”When the police told her that they were unable to identify the car from the footage, Ms Maurya retrieved a grainy image of the registration number of a car believed to be the one involved in the accident. She novel wind power inverter not only tracked down the car in the neighbouring town of Raisen but also traced its owner. The vehicle had a dent in the bumper, which had been covered by stickers. The vehicle owner, a local advocate, argued that the damage was done after the car hit a pole.

Forensic tests later confirmed that the car had hit either a human body or cattle.Ms Maurya had to also struggle to disprove the vehicle owner’s claim that he and his son were not in Bhopal when the incident took place. He had produced photographs to show that he was with a politician at the time of the accident.“I got the pictures analysed and found that the photographs were taken at another time,” Ms Maurya said. The car owner then produced a middle-aged man, who admitted before the police that he was the one driving the vehicle. But Ms Maurya produced CCTV footage to contest the assertion, showing someone “young and slim” to be in the driver’s seat.Ms Maurya also produced a 14-second animated video that she had developed to recreate the crime scene. But police was still waiting for “concrete evidence” to convert the case from an accident to that of a murder.

Ms Maurya went back to the accident site, visited an eatery located nearby, and returned with five witnesses, one of whom later testified before a magistrate. While her efforts have produced little progress in the investigation, they did result in transfer of two police officials and also of the case to another police station for a “fair probe”.The police, meanwhile, has said the case “lacks motive”. “A murder case cannot be registered as the motive is not established,” local superintendent of police Anshuman Singh said.Having done her own investigation so far in the case, Ms Maurya now wants to interrogate the accused herself.“Police simply did nothing. The probe has progressed only because I toiled to gather evidence. Let the police give me the power to interrogate the people linked to the case and I will produce evidence to establish the motive,” said the mother who also accessed her son’s Facebook account to find possible conspiracy angle. She last met Madhya Pradesh’s director general of police R. Shukla on September 20 seeking justice. “I will fight it to the finish, even if it غير مجاز مي باشدts me my life,” a frail looking, but determined, Ms Maurya said.

The V12 sports car sure derived a lot of it in the late 70s with its wedge-shaped

Hear the name Lamborghini, and you immediately go into a trance of brute power, sporty aesthetics and an orgasmic sense of petrolhead delight.Hear the name Lamborghini, and you immediately go into a trance of brute power, sporty aesthetics and an orgasmic sense of petrolhead delight. All of this, thanks to the bull-fighting, wine-making, genius of an engineer, Ferruccio Lamborghini who gave some of the wildest and most awe-inspiring cars to the world. On the occasion of the Italian carmaker’s birth centennial, we look at the top 10 machines that were manufactured under his name Lamborghini 350 GTPowered by a 3.5-litre all-aluminium alloy V12 engine, the 350 GT was the first vehicle produced by Lamborghini. Debuting back in 1964, the car went on to become a resounding success in the market, establishing the company as a viable competitor to sportscar maker, Ferrari.Lamborghini Miura

The latter half of the 1960s then saw this sultry coupe from Lamborghini. Housing a 3.9-litre engine under the hood, the car was widely considered to have instigated the trend of high performance, two-seater, mid-engined sports cars. When released, it was the fastest production road car available.Lamborghini UrracoThe Urraco was a 2+2 coupé with its body designed by Marcello Gandini in the mid-70s. Rather than being another supercar like plastic pipe fitting ppr cross the Lamborghini Miura, the Urraco (coming in three engine options – 2-litre, 2.5-litre and 3-litre) was a more affordable alternative to the contemporary Ferrari Dino and Maserati Merak.Lamborghini CountachThe word countach is the literal equivalent of ‘Holy F*ck’ in local Italian dialect.

The V12 sports car sure derived a lot of it in the late 70s with its wedge-shaped, sharply angled look that has been carried forward till today. It also popularised the ‘cab forward’ design concept, which pushes the passenger compartment forward to accommodate a larger engine.Lamborghini LM002The SUV came in as a surprise, though short-lived, departure for Automobili Lamborghini from its high-performance grand tourers and flashy sports cars. Manufactured during the 80s, the ‘Rambo Lambo’ also is worthy of a mention for being the Italian carmaker’s first 4WD car.Lamborghini DiabloCarrying forward the design style of the Countach to the 90s, the Diablo became the first car from the Bolognese manufacturer to attain top speeds in excess of 200 mph (320 kmph). Its power came from a 5.7-litre powerplant that churned out mammoth outputs of 499PS.Lamborghini Murciélago The 21st Century saw Lamborghini’s first new design in more than a decade, with the Murciélago succeeding the Diablo as its flagship coupe, in 2001.

Powered by the largest and final evolution of the Lambo V12 engine, the car was also the brand's first new model under the ownership of German parent company Audi, which is owned by Volkswagen.Lamborghini Gallardo Named after the famous fighting bull breed, the Gallardo achieved roaring success in the market, becoming the best-selling Lamborghini ever. Trading more than 14,000 units in its lifetime, the last unit of the beast was rolled out of the production line in November 2013.Lamborghini Reventon Debuting in the year 2007, the Reventon was the most expensive Lambo at around Rs 6.36 crore, until the Sesto Elemento.

With a design inspired by that of ‘the fastest airplanes’, only 20 of these cars have been sold out to public. Each of them carries a number from the sequence of 20, between the driver and passenger seats.Lamborghini AventadorThe Murciélago finally got its successor in the form of the Aventador as Lamborghini’s new flagship model. Powered by a 6.5-litre V12, the mid-engined sports car has sold around 5,000 units till date and still remains in production. To be launched next week, Lamborghini’s next offering in India will be the Huracan Spyder. Read more about it here.Source: CarDekho.

A floating rate changes according to fluctuations and economic policy

With three-year third party insurance becoming mandatory since September 1, 2018, the غير مجاز مي باشدt of buying a car just got a little higher. The right car loan can help you cover all associated غير مجاز مي باشدts with ease, while still being light on your pocket. However, to make the most of your borrowing experience, apply for a car loan the right way. You can do this easily even if you are borrowing for the first time. All you need to do is be well-informed about the basics. Here they are.In order to analyse the risk involved in lending you money to buy a car, lenders analyse your past behaviour with credit. The easiest way to do this is via your credit score. This three-digit score helps lenders to measure your creditworthiness as it is based on your credit history and management in the most recent years. But you can check your credit score yourself.

This will help you understand your prospective lenders perspective on your car loan application. You can also look at your credit report to spot any discrepancies and raise disputes to resolve them. Further, you can work on increasing your credit score if it is on the lower side to get better interest rates and loan offerings. The relationship between the two is simple: the higher your score, the more affordable your loan will be.The more loan offerings you view, the more informed you will be and the more likely you are to find one best suited for your needs. While the maximum tenor for a car loan remains seven years, look at other aspects of borrowing and choose your preferred lender. This way, you need not harm your credit score with multiple loan applications as you can narrow down on the right lender first. Look beyond interest rates and find out about all charges involved.

One leading bank, for example, offers finance up to 100 per cent for the purchase of a car for their existing savings account customers while other lenders finance up to 90 per cent. Some lenders do not offer money for the purchase of insurance and accessories. So, check the loan deal you are considering thoroughly before applying. While your current bank’s loan offering may have only slightly lower interest rate than another lender, don’t choose your bank only for the sake of convenience. Even a small difference in interest can make a big impact on your long-term interest payment. Use an EMI calculator to compare EMIs based on different rates of interest and see the overall interest you are likely to pay. Then choose the most affordable lender. Another thing to watch for is fixed and floating interest. A fixed rate is slightly higher than a floating rate but ensures your EMI and tenor is fixed.

A floating rate changes according to fluctuations and economic policy, but may be cheaper and comes with no penalty on prepayment. So, consider these nuances and choose the right rate for your car loan. The affordability of your loan is not just limited to the interest rate it comes with. While missing an EMI date may seem unlikely, stay a step ahead and consider the possibility by taking late charges into consideration. While you are at it, look at other charges like that of prepayment and foreclosure along with the processing fees and statement charges. Choose a lender that is transparent about all charges involved to avoid being unpleasantly surprised later. Now, taking all these charges into consideration, pre-plan your repayment to ensure it is easy and hassle-free.Consider your other financial obligations before you apply for a car loan.

A lot of existing debt constraints your income and impacts your ability to repay. A high debt-to-income ratio also impacts your credit score for the worse. So Sell Pure Sine Wave 2000W with UPS clear existing debts, if any. Pay them off in terms of priority, closing loans with higher interest rates first. While many lenders allow you to see the loan amount you are eligible for when you use the eligibility calculator on their website, take a look at your pre-approved offers. With a pre-approved offer you can view a customised car loan offering based on your previous credit history with the lender or your current income records.

You can be sure of a faster application and swifter processing of your loan when you avail a pre-approved offer. Plus, with this offer, there is seldom any chance of rejection.Follow the checklist above to get behind the wheel of your dream car while managing your finances like a pro. Just remember to make timely payments of your car loan and remember to collect the necessary documents to remove the hypothecation to your lender once youve paid it off in full.— The writer is CEO, BankBazaar.

Expensive cars lose their market value rapidly and depreciate quickly

Here are six factors you should consider before dropping down your hard earned money on a luxury car:Luxury cars come packed with the latest technology, performance, head-turning designs and, most importantly, bragging rights. Thanks to easy financing options, buying a luxury car isn't a dream anymore for many buyers. The swanky dealerships, smooth talking sales reps and the car itself tempt you into signing the cheque. However, what many premium car buyers don’t realise is that there’s a big difference between buying a luxury car and owning one. With the pride of flaunting that cool badge comes the challenge of looking after that high-end car. Here are six factors you should consider before dropping down your hard earned money on a luxury car:ReliabilityPaying over Rs 30 lakh for a car does not equal a guarantee of reliability.

Most of these cars have been designed for international markets where the roads are well kept, the fuel quality is better and even the environmental conditions are more forgiving. In India, however, they face everything from potholes and broken roads to adulterated fuel and harsh weather which makes them age a lot faster. These cars are sometimes tweaked (raising the ground clearance or offering higher profile tyres) a little to cope up with the road conditions in emerging markets, but they aren’t built specifically for them, which is why premium cars often face flak for their reliability problems that cheaper cars do not. This is why it’s advisable to get the maximum warranty on such cars as repair غير مجاز مي باشدts easily enter six figures.Resale ValueThe higher they stand, the harder they fall.

Expensive cars lose their market value rapidly and depreciate quickly. This results in you losing your hard earned money. Some brands do offer buy-back plans, but it depends on the car’s condition. The positive side of this is that you can get great deals on used luxury cars as their value can drop by as much as 50 per cent in as little as three to four years.Spare PartsIn India, most high-end car manufacturers assemble their products locally or import them directly. Either way, you depend on spare parts that aren’t sourced locally, which means they have heavy taxes levied on them. This also makes spare parts harder to source, and stories of luxury cars waiting in garages for weeks due to unavailability of parts aren’t uncommon. Also, there’s a golden rule that applies to all automakers – they make the real money in after-sales as spare parts come at a premium.

At the end of the day, with taxes, the dealer’s cut and developmental غير مجاز مي باشدts accounting for so much in a car’s price, there’s only a small portion that actually reaches the manufacturer every time a new car is bought.Service غير مجاز مي باشدtGiven that these cars come loaded with latest technology and electronics, the facilities needed to service them are expensive and the technicians need to have greater qualifications and knowledge as well. These cars also need higher grade fluids and more expensive parts, right from the air filter to the clutch plates. All these expenses show up pure sine wave 300w with charger when you give your car to the authorised service centre for its periodic maintenance treatment.SpaceA higher غير مجاز مي باشدt does not mean better interior space. Yes, many luxury cars are bought by chauffeur-driven owners, but don’t be surprised when you realise a Honda Jazz or the Maruti Baleno will provide better interior space than a Mercedes-Benz A-Class or the BMW 1-Series.

Buy a car from brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi or Jaguar and you’ll probably be spending over Rs 50 lakh before you get a car that can accommodate four adults with adequate room.InsuranceExpensive cars are equally expensive to insure. For example, if you buy a new BMW 5-Series, the insurance will غير مجاز مي باشدt you nearly Rs 2 lakh. This is an expense you have to bear each year, and let’s not forget, your car is still depreciating all this while.Bonus: MiscreantsJealously is a big problem and while the snob-value of a premium car will please you, there are always miscreants looking to harm your pride and joy.

Additionally, driving a cheap car means you aren’t too worried about side-swiping bikers or callous cab drivers because any repairs/replacements are relatively affordable. In a luxury car though, your mind is constantly wary of other motorists and what damage they might inflict upon your car.Don’t get us wrong, fancy cars do come with a lot of benefits too. They’re better built, offer greater safety features and performance and give you the feel-good factor that’ll make you beam with pride. However, if you are looking to part with a big sum of your money, it’s best to be aware of the potential problems and risks.Source: Car Dekho.

The Q5 petrol is a fun car to drive with the adaptive suspension and the quattro grip and more power

It’s quite stable at high speeds and agile enough for quick lane changes and attacking corners. So whether you are cruising on the highway, trotting in the city or having fun around the twists, there are the Eco, Comfort and Dynamic modes come in handy.. German luxury car maker Audi has now introduced the second generation Audi Q5 model with the petrol engine. There is a bit of vertical moment when you push the car hard around switchbacks, but it is quite predictable and never unnerving. But it has got a well-finished cabin that is big on space and comfort. The character of the Q5s suspension and the drivetrain can be altered using the various driving modes.

There is also a Sport mode keeping the engine in upper reaches of the powerband and giving the SUV readier power. The power is transmitted through Audis Ultra Quattro all-wheel-drive system which transmits power to all the wheels when the car detects loss of traction. Equipment on the top-spec 45 TFSI Q5 Technology variant includes automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers, powered front seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat, three-zone climate control, digital instruments and smartphone connectivity compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Interestingly, the petrol and diesel variants carry the same price tag at Rs 55.The petrol-powered cars have made a comeback in the luxury segments in India. The Q5 petrol is a fun car to drive with the adaptive suspension and the quattro grip and more power. The dashboard is low and gives a good view out, the front seats are comfortable and you can also sit very comfortably at the rear. The Audi Q5 petrol is more or less identical to the diesel on the inside, so there is really nothing new to report.Although, the Audi Q5 does feel slightly hesitant when starting-off, after building up the revs, the engine responds very well and the turbocharger kicks in at just above 2,200rpm with a surge of gratifying power.

Should I buy one?The Q5 is a handsome car comprising features like three-zone climate control, the virtual cockpit instrumentation, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and safety technology like ABS, EBD, ESC, 8 airbags, tyre-pressure monitoring similar between both the variants.29 lakh.0 litre turbo-petrol motor produces a strong 252hp.FeaturesLike the Q5 diesel, the Q5 petrol is available in two trims — pipe cutter Premium Plus and Technology.
